Byron Bay HQ
This isn't a role for someone who wants to manage a content calendar from the sidelines. It's for someone who wants to be inside the work - creating, connecting, and building something they're genuinely proud of.
Temple of the Sun is a Byron Bay-founded fine jewellery brand with a growing global community, a stunning Sydney flagship, and a creative team that cares deeply about every detail. We're looking for a Social Media Manager who brings the same energy.
The Role
Based in Sydney, you'll own the social presence of Temple of the Sun across all channels - Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook, and whatever comes next. You'll work closely with our Sydney store team to bring the brand to life through events, collaborations, and in-store content that feels real because it is. You'll brief and collaborate with our Creative Director and team in Byron Bay, and day-to-day you'll be part of a tight Sydney-based group that includes our Head of Digital, CRM Specialist, and UX lead.
You understand how each platform works - not just what to post, but why certain content earns attention, how algorithms reward genuine engagement, and what it actually takes to move the needle. You think like a brand and act like a publisher. You have a PR mindset about everything you put into the world on Temple's behalf.
What You'll Do
Platform Strategy & Engagement
- Own the social strategy across all channels - always asking not just what to post, but why it will resonate and how to optimise for each platform's engagement mechanics.
- Stay ahead of algorithm shifts, format changes, and cultural moments that create opportunity for the brand.
- Monitor performance closely and use data to continually sharpen your approach - cadence, format, timing, tone.
- Build the kind of engaged, loyal community that reflects everything Temple of the Sun stands for.
Content Creation & Collaboration
- Create content yourself - in-store with our Sydney team, at events, and in the field - as well as brief and coordinate with the Creative team in Byron Bay.
- Write social copy and captions that are sharp, on-brand, and earn engagement rather than just existing.
- Work with the Creative Director on campaigns, launches, and brand moments to ensure social always reflects the broader creative vision.
- Manage the content calendar, shoot coordination, and publishing - ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
Events, Collaborations & Influencer Programme
- Partner with the Sydney store to create activations, in-store events, and collaborative moments that generate real social content and community energy.
- Own the influencer programme from end to end - identifying the right voices, briefing them well, and maintaining authentic, lasting relationships.
- Lead brand collaborations from outreach to completion, managing timelines and content output with professionalism and warmth.
- Develop a geo-targeted influencer strategy that supports Temple's wholesale and retail markets.
Reporting & AI-Assisted Workflows
- Track and report on KPIs across all platforms - translating data into clear, actionable recommendations for the wider team.
- Use AI tools effectively to optimise your workflow, generate ideas, brief content, and keep everything moving efficiently.
- Manage the influencer and partnership budget with accuracy and transparency.
Who You Are
- You have proven experience managing social platforms professionally - ideally in fashion, jewellery, or lifestyle - and a portfolio that demonstrates real results.
- You understand engagement deeply: what drives it on each platform, why some content earns a community and some doesn't, and how to adapt your approach accordingly.
- You're a content creator as well as a strategist - comfortable getting in front of (or behind) the camera with the store team.
- You have a PR mindset: you think about how every post, every partnership, and every caption contributes to the brand's reputation and reach.
- You can work confidently with a Creative Director - taking direction, contributing ideas, and knowing the difference between the two.
- You love the work. You love fashion, jewellery, and the kind of brands that mean something to people.
- You're genuinely excited about what AI can do for social - and you're already using it to work smarter.
- You're organised, proactive, and calm under pressure - you meet deadlines and communicate clearly when things shift.
- You thrive with agency. You don't need to be micromanaged. You take ownership and run.
The Team You're Joining
You'll be working alongside talented, self-motivated people who care about what they do. In Sydney: our Head of Digital & E-Commerce, CRM Specialist & UX lead, and the store team at our flagship in Byron Bay: our Creative Director and the wider creative team.
This is a team that pushes each other and backs each other. We're excited about where the brand is heading - and we want you to be part of building it.
What We Offer
- Real agency in your work - you'll own your channel and your outcomes.
- A genuinely creative environment where your ideas will be heard and your skills valued.
- The chance to grow with a brand that's going somewhere.

This is a strategic, hands-on role suited to a luxury retail and wholesale specialist who thrives in a fast-paced, brand-led environment and understands what it takes to build meaningful partnerships at scale.
You will own the wholesale function end-to-end — from high-level business development strategy and key account management to operational execution — working with major domestic retailers, international sales agencies, and independent stockists. You will be supported by our internal team on administrative functions, allowing you to focus on growth, relationships, and strategic outcomes.
This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to Temple of the Sun’s retail expansion, playing a key part in ensuring our bricks-and-mortar growth is aligned with and complementary to our wholesale network.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Strategy
• Develop and drive the wholesale growth strategy, identifying new market opportunities across domestic and international channels.
• Lead business development efforts to secure new wholesale accounts, sales agency partnerships, and distribution agreements globally.
• Build and manage relationships with major department store accounts and equivalent premium retailers locally and internationally.

• Lead commercial negotiations, pricing, and terms with wholesale accounts to deliver strong margin outcomes.
• Build and maintain strong retailer relationships, delivering regular performance reviews and strategic account plans.
• Monitor wholesale channel performance and report on key metrics, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
• Ensure consistent brand presentation and merchandising standards across all wholesale partners.
Operations & Retail Alignment
• Oversee wholesale operations including order management, logistics coordination, and fulfilment — supported by the internal team on administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with the retail team on Temple of the Sun’s store expansion strategy, ensuring new retail locations are positioned to complement and protect existing wholesale partnerships.
• Advise on territory planning and geographic strategy to maintain healthy channel dynamics between wholesale accounts and our own retail doors.

- Concept & Collection Development: Ability to develop compelling mood boards, themes, and design stories that guide seasonal and evergreen ranges.
- Technical Drawing & Design Proficiency: Strong hand illustration and technical drawing skills.
- Proficiency in CAD (Rhino 3D or Matrix Gold) for concept refinement and guiding CAD teams.
- Advanced Digital Design: Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) to support design communication and visual merchandising.

- Project Management: Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple timelines, collections, and design briefs across seasonal cycles.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with marketing, production, sales, and operations to ensure smooth and timely execution from concept to product launch.
- Sustainable & Ethical Sourcing: Understanding of sustainable materials and ethical supply chain principles, including the ability to contribute meaningfully to sourcing decisions.
Key Responsibilities & Focus Areas:
- Lead the end-to-end design process for new collections, from initial ideation through to final product sign-off.
- Direct and mentor CAD designers, providing detailed briefs, technical feedback, and creative direction to ensure each design reflects the Temple of the Sun aesthetic and meets quality
standards. - Collaborate with the Creative Director on brand-led design evolution, ensuring each collection is both artistically progressive and true to our identity.
- Oversee and work closely with the Product Development Manager to ensure smooth execution of product timelines, prototypes, supplier communication, and manufacturing feasibility.
- Provide input and oversight on material sourcing and pricing frameworks to ensure product is both high quality and commercially viable.
- Partner with the production team and in-house jewellers to refine complex or bespoke elements of new designs, ensuring manufacturability and durability.
- Support the marketing and e-commerce teams with product storytelling, launch campaign visuals, and any required creative assets.
- Assist in the creation of internal product training materials, including detailed specs, design intent explanations, and seasonal narratives for retail and wholesale teams.
- Lead quality assurance at the design level, ensuring consistency, finish, and integrity of every product released to market.
- Maintain a forward-thinking, solutions-oriented approach to design challenges, proactively troubleshooting and refining product based on technical or commercial feedback.
- Act as a design ambassador within the business, contributing to a culture of creativity, precision, and innovation.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Delivery of exceptional, brand-aligned seasonal collections within timeline and budget constraints.
- Positive feedback from production, sales, marketing, and retail teams on design impact and commercial success.
- High CAD and prototype approval rates with minimal revisions due to clear, detailed briefing and design guidance.
- Effective management of the Product Development Manager, including successful coordination across departments and timely execution of design-to-market processes.
- Recognition of innovation and design excellence from both customers and internal stakeholders.
